Ancient Architecture Series
Helen and Richard Leacroft

As far as I know, this series doesn't have an official name, so I've given it my own. These books were published in the 70's to give children a picture of the places where ancient history happened. The buildings and architecture are well-illustrated with colorful pictures and detailed black and white drawings. The interesting text details the form and function of buildings and relates these to the beliefs and culture of the people.

About 40 pages each.

Buildings of Ancient Man
Buildings of Ancient Mesopotamia
Buildings of Ancient Egypt
Buildings of Ancient Greece
Buildings of Ancient Rome
Buildings of Byzantium
Buildings of Early Islam

Not the same series, but I am waiting to evaluate a copy--
Churches and Cathedrals
